'The Architecture of Nature: Geometry, Structure & Space' opens 13 May as part of London Craft Week

The Garrison Chapel hosts an immersive three-dimensional exhibition of larger-than-life polyhedral structures. These artworks will be created in a unique geometry workshop that explores traditional craft, delivered by The King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts the week before London Craft Week.

The workshop, conceptually and kinesthetically, explores how pattern is expressed in space. Geometry, directly inspired by the rhythms and structures of life itself, can be found in the art and crafts of cultures throughout human history: from towering buildings to the delicate symmetry of flowers. The workshop delves into geometry’s symbolism, touching on theories of Plato, Leonardo da Vinci and Johannes Kepler.

Participants create intricate individual pieces as well as contribute to the construction of giant polyhedral spheres and domes that will then be exhibited at The Garrison Chapel during London Craft Week and the Chelsea Flower Show.

Workshop spaces can be purchased online here.

The free exhibition runs from Monday 13 to Monday 27 May.
